Objective

The existing university campus is grouped in a ring around a central campus.
Our new building with two large lecture theatres and numerous offices and seminar rooms is part of a second ring in which new buildings are grouped as extensions to the university.

The extension to the Faculty of Law and Economics at the University of Bayreuth is causing quite a stir with its striking angled lecture theatre building. Solar control and thermal insulation glazing from three ClimaplusSecurit partners ensure a good learning and working environment in the new spacious buildings. Thermal insulation, safety and durable and flexible solar control were the requirements for the glazing. In the new seminar building, ribbon windows with “SGG Cool-Lite SKN 154” solar control glass from Saint-Gobain Glass Deutschland GmbH were recessed into the ceiling to ensure a high level of daylight.

SGG Climaplus Screen” louvre insulating glass units have been installed in the front of the large foyer, as well as on the front sides and in the library. Thanks to the adjustable blinds between the panes, they provide variable solar shading. All other windows in the building, as well as the model panes in the lecture theatre building, are made of “SGG Climaplus Ultra N” heat-insulating glass, thus ensuring a good learning environment.
